Terms of Service

These terms cover your use of this website and, where you engage us, our surplus fund recovery service. We have written them in plain language on purpose.

1. Who we are

Boomerang Equity LLC is a Wyoming limited liability company trading as Boomerang Equity. We identify surplus funds held by county and court offices after property tax sales, locate the people who may be entitled to them, and — where permitted — provide administrative assistance with documenting and submitting claims. Requirements vary by state and by the type and status of the funds. We determine whether we can assist before accepting an engagement. Claims involving court proceedings or other legal representation may be referred to appropriately licensed counsel.

2. We are not a government agency

We are not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by any government agency, court, or county office. We do not act for any government body, and we never present ourselves as doing so.

3. We are not a law firm

We do not practice law and nothing on this site is legal, financial, or tax advice. Using this site, or contacting us, does not create an attorney-client relationship. We locate records, identify funds that may be owed, research administrative requirements, and assist with documentation and administrative claim processing; we do not determine legal entitlement, advise you on the law, or represent you. Where a matter needs a lawyer we will say so. You are always free to consult your own attorney or accountant, and we would encourage it on anything significant.

4. You may be able to claim these funds yourself, at no cost

Surplus funds held after a tax sale are public record, and in most cases a person entitled to them may claim them directly from the office holding them free of charge. Procedures vary by state and by the type of claim. You are not required to use us or any other company, and nothing in these terms obliges you to. Until you sign a claim agreement with us you have committed to nothing and owe us nothing.

5. Our fee

We work on a contingency basis. Our fee varies according to the state, the type of claim, and applicable law, and it will never exceed the legal maximum. You will receive the exact percentage and an estimated dollar amount in writing before you sign anything.

  • There are no upfront fees, at any stage.
  • We pay the filing costs and expenses.
  • Our fee is earned only if funds are successfully recovered, and is paid from the recovered funds in accordance with your written agreement and applicable law.
  • If the claim is unsuccessful you owe us nothing and we absorb those costs.
  • The exact fee is stated in a written agreement that you receive and sign before we begin work.

6. Your agreement is separate from these terms

Engaging us requires a separate signed agreement covering your specific claim. Where that agreement and this page differ, the signed agreement controls. Using this website does not create any engagement between us.

7. You can stop

You are under no obligation simply by contacting us or asking us to review a possible claim, and before you sign an agreement you are free to decide not to proceed, at no cost. Nothing is submitted in your name without your signature. To stop, email claims@claimboomerang.com and we will close your file and confirm it in writing. Any cancellation or termination rights after you sign are set out in your signed agreement and comply with applicable law, including any cooling-off period your state provides.

8. What we ask of you

  • That the information you give us is accurate to your knowledge.
  • That you have the authority to make the claim you are making.
  • That you provide requested documents reasonably promptly — counties impose deadlines we cannot extend.

9. No guarantee

We cannot guarantee any claim will succeed or that any particular amount will be recovered. Outcomes depend on county processes, proof of entitlement, competing claims, and statutory deadlines — none of which are within our control. We will tell you honestly what we think your chances are.

10. This website is informational

The content on this site is general information about what we do and how these claims usually work. It is not legal, financial, or tax advice, and it is not a promise about any particular claim. Statutes, deadlines, and county practice change, and what applies to your file may differ from what is described here. Nothing here is a substitute for checking with the office holding your funds or with your own professional adviser.

11. Using this website

The text, design, graphics, and video on this site belong to us and may not be copied or reused without our permission. Please do not attempt to disrupt the site, gain access to parts of it that are not public, submit false information through its forms, or use it to send anything unlawful.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Nothing in these terms removes any right you have under the consumer protection law of the state where you live.

13. Changes

We may update these terms. The "last updated" date on this page changes whenever we do. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms; your signed claim agreement is not changed by anything on this page.
